Was supposed to get a call at 10:30am to organise the deliver of the new phone tomorrow, no suprise when it doesnt happen.

Gave them a call and organise a work delivery, which they agree to, but then find that the place of work doesnt exist and cant be found on their postcode system, so they refuse to deliver.

Have asked them to put it in manually and get told that they are not allowed to do that, if its not in the system then they cant deliver, can I verify the location and going to the building next door to get their address as they suspect its a new build and as such its not on the system...

They are told under no circumstances am I doing that, Im on Haymarket St, maybe I could go ask Her Majesty's Theatre or the Haymarket Theatre to see if they are newly built.

They then ask if they can deliver at home at 9am-1pm or 1pm to 5pm and get told no unless they give me compensation for lost earnings from having to stay home.... I ask what about a store of theirs and they say thats out of the question as they dont do it anymore. He finally agrees to let me speak to a manager about personally inputting the address I gave him, but only at 7pm tonight.

So they refuse to deliver cause the famous Haymarket st doesnt exist, wont deliver to a store and want me to lose over 1/2 a days wages waiting in for them.

WHat is the next step after this as Im getting really fed up of these jokers...

Thats the point I dont get holiday days, everyone I take off costs me a days wages for doing so.

They told me mon-friday delivery but I will try and push them tonight.

Im so close to cancelling the contact as its st not being able to hold a conversation with anyone and they turn around and stick their hands up and say not their problem, but keep paying us.

They've always delivered between 6pm and 10pm in the evening for us although that's for replacement or repaired phones.

Thought that too, but they are the worst people for deliveries, they dont ring like the note says (often cause its in the box), sometimes they dont knock and pretend to stand there for 5 seconds before running off (they have been told im on the 2nd floor of the building), all in for deliveries at home, they are crap.

They normally use DPD (formerly Parceline) for sending out phones. Maybe just get it sent to your home address then go and collect it from the DPD depot when you get 'carded' ?

Does it work like that with phones?

I thought I had to give the other one back across to them, will they remember to do that at the depot (assuming its nearby, but central london has me assuming no)

Sorry, I didn't realise you had to give one back. I think in that case you will have to have ............. FACE TO FACE CONTACT WITH THE COURIER! eek

Had the same problem with a computer company famous for its cow motif. For my personal computer they would only deliver at my registered address (home) between 9am and 6pm when I was at work.
Strangely enough I got a phone call at 7pm for the works computer saying they were outside a closed shop could I go open up for them, oh the irony.

Yep and these fkers are an illusive breed and very difficult to track and get hold of, hence the getting pissed off with them not recognising Haymarket street, get its cause of the congestion charge

I went to T-Mobile from Orange... what a mistake banghead

Phone sent out, never arrived. Repeat. Repeat again. Discover courier has the phone but doesn't deliver as he cannot be bothered to wait to do swap over... email to MD of T-Mobile.. finally sorted.

Why would you have to give the old phone back? Are you at the end of a contract or upgrading?

Either way the phone you have has been paid for by the contract.

Unless yours is broken?

Never heard of giving a phone back to a courier when receiving a new one.

Slightly o/t I know, but do other networks offer a similar service for broken phones that Orange do? Its the one reason why i've always stayed with them but if another network offered the same i'd be tempted to switch.

If you get paid so much that taking half a day off is costing serious wedge then you can afford to go into a shop and pick a phone up.
If you get paid so little that you can't afford the difference, then half a day must be about 10p, so you might as well take half a day off.
Normally takes me about 3 attempts to get a phone out of orange, but it works in the end.

Final option is to get it delivered to your folks or a mate that can get days off.

Expecting to be paid by Orange to wait for a delivery is utter nonsense imo.

The phone is deemed to be at fault again, therefore to get one that 'works' I have to hand it back to the courier and sign for it, hence the face to face meeting, everytime there is an issue, they simply try and send a new one out or a new battery like last time.
