Contratcing question

I am in the great position of giving all my permanent staff Christmas eve afternoon off, but also have some contract staff.

Is there any effect to their IR35 or any contract implications if I give them the afternoon off but pay them as they get the same treatment as permie staff?

I think it's all right, but if anyone could clarify it would help

Write a small note to say XMAS eve is double time. So they can invoice the same amount for half the hours.

Or just get them to book the hours and mums the word.
