I just decided to play a DVD in my computer. I have done this before and it worked. However this time it didn't.

When i try to play in windows medial player it comes up with an error message along the lines of "windows media player is unable to play this DVD video....."

When i click on details it comes up with this:

"Windows Media Player is currently unable to play DVD video

Error ID = 0xC00D116A, Remedy ID = 0x00000000"

I have done a search for the error message and i found some stuff but it hasn't been very helpful, it only says stuff along the lines of "To resolve this issue, contact your computer manufacturer, or the manufacturer of the DVD decoder program."

Which is not very helpful at all. I hope someone here will be able to help.

Appreciate any replies

Thanks Gary

Media player does not support DVD playback unless you have 3rd party software installed either powerDVD Ati DVD player etc.

Install one of these and the DVD will work.

I had powerDVD, but it wasn't working with that either, it came up with an error message. I was going to re-install it, so i did add/remove programs on control panel. But unfortunately i don't have the CD to install it with So i'll have to wait probably until monday to get hold of a copy.

Just to give you an update. I downloaded a trial of PowerDVD and all seems to be working fine, so on monday, i'll get hold of a copy and re-install it and it "should" be working fine.

Thanks for the replies.
