3494 texts in a month ...
Discussion
Unbelievable - my 18yo son that is ... and from glancing at his bill about 75% were to the ONE number (a girl)
Divided by 31 days that is 115 a day - or 7.5 an hour (allowing for a 15 hr day)
Texting while you're awake every EIGHT MINUTES for a month. And they say kids have it easy - god, I'd be bored.
I think I sent FOUR last month from memory ... and that was a heavy month.
Lunacy. And he works 3/4 days a week as well at the mo so I don't know how he has the time.
Why not ring her, have a chat for ten minutes and call it a night I say to him. It's another world for us old 'uns ...

Crikey! I don't know, but I reckon I probably average one a day (texts, that is!).
I was talking to one of the PA's in work the other week and she was showing off her new iPhone. I was pretty surprised when she claimed to have got it as a free upgrade... that is until she told me that her mobile bill is "at least £120 per month".

I have sent 3000 texts a month a few times, not as much anymore as I have an iPhone.. It takes too long to text now
Mostly all to one girl too, and used up my 8 hours of calls a month too her too.. Sometimes in one night, 11pm called her.. 7am came off the phone
7 hours 55 minutes of "you hang up", "no, you hang up first", etc.?

I'd suspect I've not sent 3400 texts in my life. He must have the thing permanently welded to his hand!
My ex's brother was the same though, every few seconds or so the thing would beep the new arrival of a message. I asked him what he was texting, and it became clear how they rack up the messages - the lack of any form of sentence composition. A quick fictitious example being:
Him: K
Her: K
Him: Doin?
Her: Nuffin much
Him: Bored?
Her: Yeah lol
Him: Miss u
Her: u2
Him: miss u more
Her: whateva
Him: no rly i do
Her: I kno lol
Him: u comin round tonite
Her: yeah
Him: k
Her: cya then
Him: k lol bye
Her: no kisses?
Him: soz xxxxxxxxxxx lol bye
About eight messages in a minute is therefore feasible - if you are 18 and can't communicate in full words, or for that matter benefit from the full number of characters available per text. Apologies for the unprovoked use of txt spk. It does however prove that at the age of 30 I am down with the kids, hip to the hop and whatever other fashionable lingo happens to be pervading street corners outside newsagents these days.
Given the current malaise of the UK sport, maybe we should introduce texting as our new sport for 2012. This kid would be a nailed on chance for a gold medal.

I've actually no idea what we talked about for that long.

I rack up texts quite quickly because I write everything properly, just like on here.. And usually the texts are 3-4 messages per text, so 4 of them an hour.. 12 texts sent an hour.My ex's brother was the same though, every few seconds or so the thing would beep the new arrival of a message. I once had a customer who used to teach in japan, apparantly from what she said, that if you looked at the screen whilst texting you were looked down upon.
She had taught herself to text without looking at the screen, the phone is in her pocket - this lady was sending 6000 texts per month!!

Surely that would be a bit messy with a touchscreen phone? Perhaps a phone with tactile buttons would be more suited to this method ... She had taught herself to text without looking at the screen, the phone is in her pocket - this lady was sending 6000 texts per month!!
