Oh and the nitros isn't particularly subtle either.

So why throw a pile of cash at it? It's never going to have the grunt to justify the looks.

You're going to crash it (hopefully only a little smile) or have a few parking arguements with walls / other cars / garage doors (delete as applicable) at some point not long after passing your test (to be fair everyone I know has done that, so it's not a criticism).

The insurance is going to be crippling WITHOUT the mods. Add skirts and big wheels and it will be even more painful.

Trust me, having a car, any car, will be utterly sweet. Sorry - I just dont see the point in a blinged up chavhatch.

Wish I'd got a car for my birthday *sob*

rotate

Oh yeah, whatever you do, if you get a turbo or run the engine a little rich, don't rev the engine with the car in front of those canisters eek

Drive it as it is.

You could spend 2 grand on what is a £300 car, and it will still be a £300 car.

That two grand could be money being saved for something nicer for when you get your no claims built up.

The few small mods you've asked for do really change the look of the car:

why shoudnt i spend a couple of hundred quid on it, it looks like a complete bag of cr*p now but i want to make it stand out it doesnt have to be quick its just a 1.1 not a supercar, realistically i only wanted colour coded bumpers and a small set of alloys 15" maximum just to make it look resonable compared to stock, everyone has to start somewhere so dont be so bloody big headed

If you can get the parts super cheap then I don't see a problem. I bought my last wheels for £100 and spent £30 on paint, primer and masking tape, I thought it looked ok.

Here's my shoddy effort: smile

By blinging it up, you will only up your insurance. Save your money, and get some no claims going first. Put the money you save towards something better.
There are hundreds of "Kev'd" up motor about, and lets face facts, they all look bloody stupid.

You can't polish a turd.

No-one is being big headed, they're just trying to offer advice,we've all been 17,and have the experience to look back and say "Hmmm, maybe I could have spent my money a bit more sensibly" but it's your car, your choice...smile
