IPod won't sync with PC

I expect this will get moved somewhere obscure but not sure where to put it in the first place......

My IPod won't sync with my PC.

I have had to be a new USB connector lead as my old one has vanished, and I can't make the new one sync with the PC. It works as it's charging but evene when I open ITunes nothing happens.

Any suggestions or do I need to buy an official Apple lead to make it work ?

Mmm, possibly but the lead itself works as it's chearging, wondered if there was something I was doing wrong.

Annoyed I can't find my original lead - reckon one of my mates has hidden it as it's always in the same place.....

nah the lead is probably only for charging. Did it come with a car charger adapter as well? kindof multipurpose device?

Nope just the USB lead but I need one that'll make it sync to the PC..................maybe i need a different type of lead ?

Ebay - Ansmann is the brand.

It does the charging well.....just need to buy a proper IPod lead I guess.......?

It doesn't have to be the lead. Have you more than one drive on your PC?

Not sure I understand but I have plugged it into the 3 USB ports available on the PC and still no joy.

Have opened up ITunes and it won't let me sync as it doesn't realise it's there.

If you've already got a drive E: sometimes iTunes won't pick up the iPod as that is the drive letter it expects the iPod to be on.
