iphone on Orange and Vodaphone

Does anyone know when this will happen? Their websites don't give away a specific date for either.

I have an upgrade from Orange due at the beginning of November...

I was previously thinking about binning my orange contract and going with O2 anyway.

I have heard that Vodafone will have the Iphone on sale early in the new year - But they wont have it ready for Xmas.

I have heard that Orange will be releasing it in November but based on previous delays it may end up being December. Now to decide whether I need an iPhone

I was going to upgrade to a smaller phone than my N95, but i am now considering the Iphone 3Gs which is bigger.

I dunno... Depends what Orange can do in terms of price and upgrade.

"Price wars" - hmmm, I expect this won't happen until next year, Voda/Orange will want to maximise profits so firstly they'll get all those who want an iPhone but not on O2 asap at full price.

Come next year, esp when o2 contracts are up for many, then the price wars will start. However, as the phones are so desirable they won't need to sell them that cheaply to attract customers.

There'll be no iPhone for free on a £20 tariff for example.

Asides from that, unlike most phones none of them get iPhones cheap enough to offer and significant discounts.

Price wars will be interesting.

The problem is that I don't think Apple will be likely to budge on their pricing, therefore not really giving that much room for O2/Orange/Vodafone to cut prices without digging into profits.
