Has anybody heard of or experienced any issues/problems with using a usb mouse and keyboard in windows xp?
It was running me before but the machine was killed by my girl's nephew so i thought i would do my good deed of the day and fix it.
The machine is a Pucking Bell which doesnt help matters!!
Its all very strange because I installed xp using ps2's then once it was all running lovely plugged in the usb key/mouse.
XP picked them up, installed them and both were working.
Restarted and nothing, restarted again and working.
The next 10 restarts were all fine and then they dropped again with a message saying unsupported usb devices found.
Its so inconsistent i cant make any sense of it!!
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Yeah i think i can help
You are right it is an issue with xp
You need to edit the registry
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB<USB Vid and Pid><device>Device Parameters
Click Device Parameters, and then click the SelectiveSuspendEnabled REG_BINARY value.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
DONT FORGET TO BACK IT UP FIRST
