Say I open an animated .giff file and its doing its thing, moving.
Well if I save it onto my PC, then close the file, is it still moving? Or does it only start moving when I open the file again?

Ha, what a weird question.

If a tree falls and no ones around to hear it, does it make a sound ? Yes

In answer to your question, No.

I reckon the gifs all have a big ol' party when you're not looking... Try to catch 'em in the act!

They're like trees. They make no noise when they fall unless someone is there to hear them.

That was what I thought. But then I thought, "how can we be sure"?

Trees make sounds when they fall... Just because there is nothing around to interpret the sound waves, doesn't mean the sound waves aren't there. wink

Save the gif, and then copy it a million times. Look at the resource your PC uses, nothing, because as a file, its just characters, or 1 and 0's.

Use an application that can read it and bingo.

Because it's just a load of ones and zeros, something needs to read and understand it to make it do anything.

Are you serious?

Only Clippy still lives on when you don't see him. He's in your computer, watching your porn.

Yes, but the gif files are self-thinking autonomous beings, when you are not watching them; they do whatever the hell they like and run amok on your PC! Why would they use more computing resources, they have their own resources!
