Not sure if this is the correct room?

Anyway.. Any recommendations on a good computer chair?

I need one to use for the computer but as my Xbox is practically next to it, to play Xbox in, so has to be comfy for hours of use really!

I'd prefer one with a highback, I have a low one at the moment and its really not comfy frown

Many thanks!

I've got the one you mean from Ikea, it's the Marcus chair. It is very good but the only criticism I have is that the seat part could perhaps be a little deeper. But for 100 quid I was very happy!

Don't have a better picture of it but here you go -

If you know anyone that's a Cotsco member they've got a couple of very comfortable ones in fabric or part leather.

We've got the big squishy leather ones now. Very nice. Lots of cusion to get comfortable with. The onbly thing that annoys me about them is the design of the arms. But I could live with that.

I spent circa £200 on a nice high-back leather chair from Staples. The chair is very comfortable and supportive but it took ages to put together (none of the holes lined up, arms weren't even symmetrical) and i'd definetily pay £9 (or whatever tiny amount it was ) for it to be assembled on delivery.

Plenty to choose from. I can highly recommend the Heman Miller Aeron. If you spend most of your day sitting in a work chair, it makes sense to get one that suits you.
Yep, it's one of those things worth spending on like beds, good posture is important.

I would recommend RH Logic 400 personally, best one for adjustment albeit pricey (£800+) http://www.rhchairs.co.uk/

Can't really go wrong with an Aeron. But don't assume that *all* Herman Miller kit is the bomb - my current client have the 'cheap' Herman Miller chairs (Mirra) and they're OK but nothing spectacular. Certainly nowhere near as good as either my Therapod or an Aeron.

But if the price is a bit steep then Therapod make a similar type of chair called the Fluid - I've got one of these as my office chair and it's excellent. I have the 3a model with the headrest, though I find it doesn't get much use in reality.

Back to back with a Herman Miller, I find the Therapod more comfortable, but I don't have to adjust that far from standard to get a comfortable position - I'm a very average size / shape. If you're particularly tall or big then it's definitely worth trying a few out (and if you're especially heavy - check the design specs of the chairs - certainly the mesh-type chairs like the Aeron and the Fluid have upper weight limits!!!)...

One benefit with the Aeron is that City offices went berserk buying them when times were good - and there's a flourishing secondary market in Aeron chairs. So whilst they're damn expensive new, you can get them second hand (best check this - not sure if the market is that liquid these days). I'd still go for the Therapod though, unless someone offered me an Aeron for £400. When I was buying, the Aeron was £900 and the Therapod was £450 so having tried both, it was a no-brainer...

There's a guy on eBay selling secondhand Herman Miller Aeron chairs for £340. Worth it?

I bought on at Costco yesterday. (Well, Mrs V8 did; my Christmas pressie)

About £180-odd; fantastic build quality and very, very comfortable though.

(Take a big car; the box is huge!)
