My mate uses Lotus wordpro in Windows 95 on a dinosaur of a PC. he says it is perfect for his needs, Word Processing, the only problem is when he prints it only prints the odd numbers, no matter what him or his wife do they can't make it print the even numbers. I have been over WordPro with a fine tooth comb and couldn't find anything that would suggest to it to print only odd numbers, and I have reinstalled his printer driver.

I have even brought the file to my computer to see if it would print off on my printer, the problem is I use Word 2000 and can't seem to be able to convert the file to be readable. even an RTF file won't work.

So, there are 2 parts to this request.

1, Can I have any and all ideas, no matter how simple to work out why the hell word pro won't print the even numbers.

and

2, Can I have any and all idea as to why I cannot convert this file, and is there anyone out there who would kindly give it a shot and see how they get on.

TIA

Stuart.

Don't think PH email is working tonight! Or it's very very slow.

I'll give it 5 mins, if not I take a look tomorrow.

Got it! I'll have a play tonight to see if I can get it to work, or failing that my PC at work has a little more software installed I'll give that a bash!

Win95 + Lotus? He needs to put more coal into the firebox and get the steam pressure up a bit higher...

I told him to just junk it and buy a dell or somesuch but apparently that isn't an option.

So he's left with his dinosaur which he also wants to go on the internet with

I got a mailshot from Dell - they're doing a perfectly acceptable PC for about £250, and that includes a 17" monitor! I think your chum is either going to have to bite the bullet and move on, or keep trying to paddle a coracle!
