Is it any good ? Easy to configure , run backups and restores ?

I use it every week to back up my stuff to our server, seems to do the trick. I've never had to restore but people I've spoken to say it works.

I've no idea how it works (but can tell you EVERYTHING about Veritas Backup Exec).

My new company uses it to protect website hosting servers - ie highly critical (some of the busiest in the UK) - so I guess it's good
