Anyone else suffering from a web 'go slow' at the moment. Web traffic has been acting like there's treacle in the wires this evening...

Wonder if the recent viruses might be causing major headaches with the ISPs

My ISP bought some more 'fat pipes' (their words) and whilst it was definitely sticky before, it's now much better. And I only paid £13.86 inc VAT for a month of 512Mb ADSL So maybe it's an ISP thing too. Tell yours to go to PC World and get some more modems!

Don't forget that MyDoom/Novarg starts it's Denial Of Service attack on SCO on 1 Feb at 1609 UTC so that could account for some of the extra traffic.

Having said that, my Demon connection still seems to be running OK.

I'm on Telco4u (dial-up only, out here in the sticks)

I've virus scanned after a cold boot, double checked virus updates etc etc. So pretty confident it's not this box. Still running like a pig mind

I'm guessing he's with Metronet who do a "pay as you go" 512k broadband service. I'll be joining them once my exchange in upgraded tomorrow

£13.86 especially good for 512Mb broadband. Most of us only get 512Kb....
