My wife recently went for a phone upgrade on her Vodafone pay monthly contract. She opted for a free phone and the guy on the phone looked at her current plan and usage and then sold her a package that he said would suit her better.

One month in and her monthly payment has gone from £40 to a whopping £170. She thought maybe she'd be mistakenly billed for the phone but it turns out they dropped her 'Stop the Clock' feature that she had before.

She's been on the phone to them tonight and they've offered her a £40 discount on the bill and for an extra £5 a month she can have her Stop the Clock back but I think they're a bit out of order, particularly as the guy who sold the contract could see her monthly usage of 1000+ mins but sold her a 600 min contract.

I know that it's her responsibility etc but surely this is mis-selling?

Any thoughts on whether she's got any comeback, what to do next etc??

Thanks in advance.

Email Vodafone customer services and 'CC' in Ofcom, Watchdog and Martin's Money Tips. I would be very surprised if they didn't contact you within 24 hours of them receiving the email.
