Folks, would be grateful if I can be pointed in the right direction here.

My girlfriend needs a laptop, and while she loves using my Alu-unibody MacBook, she doesn't quite have the budget for a brand new one.

Can someone recommend suppliers of used MacBooks? To be honest, I'd rather she went with a trusted source as opposed to ebay (or maybe I'm being unduly paranoid)

Any advice much appreciated nerd

Aye, they do and that was my first thought, but I suspect her budget won't stretch to anything they have.

MacBooks hold their value amazingly well. Even eBay prices for used items are surprisingly high. AFAIK there's no well known 'used macbook specialists'. I'd do some eBay research, you should be ok buying from a trusted seller with decent feedback. You might even find one with some Applecare warranty left on it.
