T610 mobile problems

Stuck up north with no access to my home machine and my Sony t610 mobile is playing silly buggers. The softkeys have stopped working, which means I can't login to the phone or use it at all.
I can probably do a hard reset and fix it, but I won't be able to re-sync it with home PC till the end of the week, which is no good to me.

Anybody know of a fix? It's happened to me before, and I'm pretty sure it's a common problem, but I can't find anything on the web about it?

I assume you've removed the battery and tried again?

yep, and it's now locked out as I can't enter the pin without the softkeys working.

Try posting on www.esato.com, you'll get a better response there.

Only other thing I can recommend is using an eraser/rubber on the SIM card
