simcard question

safe everyone.... simple question about simcards hope you can help out

if i buy a new phone (im thinking iPhone) can i take the simcard out and plop it into a smaller cheaper (unlocked) phone and it will work straight away? is there any problems with taking the simcard in and out over and over again?

any info would be very much appreciated! thanks a ton

As long as the phone you want to put the simcard in will work on that network (unlocked or locked to the same network) then yes it will work. No problems taking sim in and out as long as you are careful with it.

awsome... i just have this nightmare of takin it out on a night out and stamping/sitting/losing or all three in one go. i can transfer the sim into another cheaper handset and dance like a moron with a slightly clearer conscience.

i just didn't know if the iPhone or any similar handset had a differnet size sim/different size than normal. boom

All SIMs are the same size.

Some networks do have funky features, though. For example when I put my O2 sim in my old unlocked sony erricsson (which had been on Vodafone) I got an SMS offering to send new settings to the phone to make the data work. I didn't need it for my night out, so refused. But just wanted to let you know funky stuff can happen...

Also, try not to lose that chuffin tiny pin prick thing used to remove iPhone sims!!

Unless you're talking about an ancient monster of a phone - remember when SIM cards were full credit card-size?

Oh, and the iPad (when it gets here) will be on a new micro-SIM card size.
