PC World Price Match?
Discussion
Hi Folks
My laptop screen got smashed a couple of weeks ago and i claimed on the home insurance for a replacement. They're sending me out a voucher of an agreed value for PC World/Currys that i can take down (with two forms of ID) and pay for a replacement laptop with.
I've had a look at their stock and nothing that comes in under budget with the chip i want takes my fancy, apart from one that's £20 more. I then noticed that PC World do a price match against anything thats in stock and within 30 miles from the PC world store. It just so happens that CCL are doing the very same laptop £20 cheaper, making it fall in under budget (CCL just happens to be within 30 miles of my local PC World
)
I can't see any terms and conditions for the price match on the page that states i need to be paying cash/card - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/editorial/price-m...
Frustratingly the online price comes on under budget, but the in-store price is £20 too much. I'd put some of my own cash towards but i vowed never to give PC world my money many years ago
Anyone know if this is worth a try?
Thanks
Dave

One of my pet hates. Insurance should reimburse me with cash to spend where and on what I wish, not where they wish.My laptop screen got smashed a couple of weeks ago and i claimed on the home insurance for a replacement. They offered one of these piles of cack as a replacement, delivered directly to my house if i paid them my £100 excess. The laptop i smashed was faster than that, but with it being 3 years old they'd only give me the equivalent present day replacement on spec instead of the price paid new (£1000+

I politely declined and they sent me vouchers to that value minus the £100 excess. At least i'll end up with something without a s
te ULV processor and decent screen if i choose it myself
