My 12 months is nearly up. Letter from Sky asks for £6 pcm. Seem to recall the install engineer saying some other bunch had a much better deal. Not sure if posted answers = breaking PH chat rules, so PM perhaps?
thanks guys

Why bother? It's unlikely to break. If it does? Knock Sky on the head. They'll either give you a HD box to stay OR you can just rejoin a short while later and get a new free HD box.

Ours has been going several years with no problems. Doesn't owe me anything.

We've had one fail outside of warranty. I called Sky up and an 'engineer' came round and gave us a new box. We paid £60 in total.

I get several calls a year from chancers saying claiming that they supply official Sky warranties. Scum the lot of them.

yes As bad as "Dick-Suns" used to be.

Them: Why won't you buy this extraordinarily expensive warranty on this relatively cheap item, sir?

Me: I never warrant anything as I find it cheaper to take the risk myself and just replace stuff that breaks.

Them: But but but I won't get commission and it will likely fail the very second the one year manufacturer's guarantee has expired!

Me: Then it's a piece of st and I won't be buying it. Bye.
