Computer Help Required

DMy daughters PC won't boot up. The screen displays 'CD-ROM Priority.. Boot ready'
Any ideas?

Bootable CD in the drive? Alternatively, a DVD in the CD drive (my pc does this, or did, until I finally got irritated enough to remove it from the boot sequence).

Worth going into the BIOS and making sure that the hard drive is first in the boot order. If it is, and the pc still tries to boot off the CD, then the pc can't find the boot drive, which could be down to any number of reasons.

If you look at the display during boot, does it find a hard drive at any point - or if you go into the bios, does it find one then?
