Brother Laser Printer - Drum Counter reset

We have an HL5250-DN on which the drum has expired. The 5250 replaced a 5240 - and the drum on this machine still has plenty of life in it.
Brother will not provide us with information, either online or by telephone, as to how to reset the drum counter.
I would appreciate it if PH can assist where Brother fails.
