Is there anyway to restrict a blackberry so that it only alerts one to new emails between say 10am and 4pm?

Hmm, is this on BIS or BES?

If BES on your server can you not do some port blocking? Mine was always port 3101.

Sorry I've no idea, it connects to t-mobile which in turn pulls mail down from a pop3 account.

Put the phone on silent? That's what i have to do. And then set the ringtone for the phone to still go off in the theme settings bit

Can you not set up a different 'profile' to not alert you of incoming emails? Therefore at the end of the working day just, change the profile?

FWIW, I used to love this functionality of my Nokia E71, setting it only to look for emails during working hours unless I told it otherwise.

There's a default profile called 'Phone Only'. Try that.
