Using a G4 Mini as a PVR?

My old faithful G4 (1.42GHz, 1GB) has recently been replaced by a 27" iMac. I was thinking of reusing it as a PVR, driving a 1920x1200 24" LCD and using the combo as a TV. The Elgato EyeTV DTT appears to offer the right features, but I'm unsure as to whether the G4's got enough ooomph for fullscreen playback (live and/or recorded). Regular Freeview's never more than 720x576 @ ~1.2Mbps, so it's not particularly demanding, but fullscreen at 1920x1200 really strains the poor little mini and the video breaks up catastrophically if a certain threshold is crossed.
Does anybody have any experience of the Elgato? And if so, could you post a short clip of video somewhere for me try before shelling out?
