Hi everybody,

I have a laptop that I'm trying to install some antivirus software to and also update windows, but somehow, every website that I try and access that has anything to do with AVG, AVAST, PANDA SOFTWARE, MALWARE, which has anything to do with installing antivirus type software, all browsers just go to 'problem loading page' or 'this page is not found' or 'this link is broken'. The exact same thing happens when I try and go microsoft update of any sort. This is not just through the browser. It is also through programs such as AVG which downloads an installer but when the installer gets to downloading the program, it fails to find a connection. Malaware just can't update and under windows update on control panel, it just fails to find the webpage etc.

I've tried downloading the full program and putting it onto a USB, but the laptop is not recognising the USB.

Any ideas, thanx.

have you tried booting up in safe mode?
also, if you do manage to download any .exe installer for AV, such as malwarebytes etc, it might be wise to change the exe name, ie change
housecalllauncher.exe to anything.exe as it looks like you have a clever one that knows who it's enemies are

Sounds like it already has a virus hijacking it.

You could try booting into safe mode then loading malwarebytes from a memory stick.

I had a nasty virus on my pc once and in the end I downloaded Malwarebytes on a clean computer onto a memory stick, then ran the programme on my infected one and it removed it.

Yep - compromised PC, even if you get safe mode etc, I would (personally) be thinking "rebuild" and restore my data from a backup. If you have a backup that is. If not, boot to knoppix iso cd, get your data files saved to another pc/usb stick, then rebuild.....just my 2 cents.
