I have some AVI files which I want to burn onto some DVDs for viewing on my tv.

The software package I normally use (serif) is taking absolutely hours to do this (16 hours for one 800mb AVI file!!)

Can anyone recommend me a quicker option? I am prepared to pay if the speed is greater, otherwise freeware is preferred.

Cheers.

Absolutely cracking application, can either burn to disc or generate an ISO. Latter is useful for me as my bloody DVD drive has some chronic driver issues (which are turning into an impossibility to resolve), so just burn on another PC.

Ok, I've downloaded dvdfick, and whilst it's easy to use and does the job, but even this took 7.5 hours to convert a 600mb film into DVD files. Is this my PC taking the time, or can I get a faster program?

It will most likely be the speed of your computer.

I assume you're burning something like a DIVX avi file to a DVD that will go in any DVD player?

I've halved the time down from 16 hours to 8, just by changing the software to another free one. If I buy an even better one (if you can recommend one) will I get it down even further?
