I use Outsourcery for my business phones.

I want to upgrade to an iphone with Vodafone. At the moment, you can only buy an iphone direct from Vodafone and not their partners.

Outsourcery called me today to say they could supply me with an unlocked iphone, then use my current Vodafone simm. They say it will work and update as normal.

Is this true?

Also, will I miss out on any additional features from not buying the total package from Vodafone?

I've got a Vodafone Sim in an unlocked O2 2G iPhone, everything works absolutely fine. The only thing it won't do is copy the names/numbers off the SIM on to the phone.

No reason it'll be anything different. Apple don't supply custom software for different operators.

It should copy the sim card to the phone, settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar > import sim contacts.

Well at least my jailbroken and unlocked iphone does. I travel around the middle east and so have a few sim cards for the different countries.

Yep, lost count of the times I have done that - no use though. How odd.
