Ah. Almost certainly my fault, but my synchronisation has gotten foobarred.
It happily syncs with Exchange other the ether, but at some point I must've asked iTunes to sync with Outlook on my PC. As a result I have two calendars in the iPhone, my Exchange and an iPhone version. I now get all reminders twice and have two calendars in the darn thing.
I can't see how to remove/delete the iPhone data which is my ideal solution. Is my only option to zap the thing and start again? If I do so, do I have to load the apps, settings and stuff again?

Maybe there is an easier option, but since the whole backup / restore function is pretty easy, I would look at that. You can reset all of the data back to default (Settings -> General -> Reset) and then wipe it clean. You can the configure itunes for what you want. If you want to sync up Outlook but can do this over-the-air, then set it up accordingly, you don't need to do this via itunes too. Then when you are ready, just sync it up again and you will get all of your apps. Don't restore the backup though as it will pull the settings too and you will be back where you were except you have lost a couple of hours.
