Having just picked up a new netbook with W7 Starter on, should I be replacing the OS with Ubuntu and running with Open Office?

I've never used Ubuntu before, but I see comments on here about speeding up netbooks a bit by using this OS. I'm also considering upgrading the RAM to 2Gb.

W7 Starter is fine.
No one will look down on you for using a Microsoft OS. Well some will but ignore them.
W7 is actually quite good now even the haters say so.

I'd up the RAM no matter what as it'll make a big difference to any OS. Try Win 7 as I'm running it on a 5 year old laptop and it's great.

I've got windows 7 on my vaio netbook, the machine operates fine for me and I wouldn't feel a need to change the OS.

If Win7 is already on it then IMO you may as well try it out and put Open Office on it.
