Wireless mouse problems

I'm having a some issues using a wireless mouse with my laptop at the moment. The touchpad works, a wired USB mouse works, but I've tried two different wireless mice and neither work.

One of the mice used to work until a couple of weeks ago, the other is new as I thought it was a problem with the existing mouse.

I've tried uninstalling all existing mouse drivers and usb drivers and letting windows reinstall them itself, but this didn't have any effect.

So, experts of PH, any ideas what to try next?
