Netbook Batteries
Discussion
14 months ago I got a third-party 9-cell for my Aspire One, and without any question it's been worth every single penny I paid for it - the original Acer battery is now resigned to backup use for those rare occasions when the 9-cell runs out (usually because I've forgotten to recharge it...).

Thanks was a bit concerned on the quality of third party batteries, bearing in mind the price difference betwen them and branded batteries.Edited by NorthEast on Monday 1st March 10:16

IIRC the 3-cell batteries on the NC10 and its related models only gave around 3-4 hours battery life, so if you want greater I would go for the 6-cell, but it would obviously vary depending on what netbook you are looking at.
Its a refurb NC10 I am looking at says 4 hour battery life, so I am assuming its fitted with a 3 cell battery NorthEast said:

I also have a third-party battery for my Canon DSLR, which was significantly cheaper than the equivalent Canon part - the only way I can tell it apart from the original battery supplied with the camera is to look at the label on the side... as far as the performance is concerned, it behaves just like the Canon-branded battery. So whilst there probably are some sub-standard third party batteries out there, you just need to have a bit of common sense about you when buying one - check user reviews, Google for any pro/anti comments etc.
