I have a new laptop and basically moved my music on one to another using an external hard drive. ALl the music is now in itunes on the new laptop, and plays fine, but only the purchased tunes will sync. I have authorised the new computer, but still nothing.

Its an 8gb ipod, and after filling 1gb with purchased tunes says there is no more room. Any idea what im doing wrong?

Have you fully synced the iPod with the new laptop because the iPod can only be synced with 1 laptop

Aslong as you have all your music backed up on the pc try a factory reset on the iPod as then it won't be linked to any pc and when u plug it in for the first time you should get the box where you can name your iPod

there is a hack to allow you to connect to more than one machine but it gets quite messy trying to keep two (or more) machines in synch.

In fact you can authorise up to 5 machines in iTunes itself. (from what I remember)

Thanks Rob, but still no joy. Reset, renamed, then says there isn't enough memory, although the bar at the bottom shows 7.39GB is free
