I recently recieved a message with a number of attachments which I cold not open. Tried a few times but it refused to open so I deleted it. However, although it is not in my inbox on the BB or Yahoo mail, the letter icon with 1 alongside is still showing on the BB screen.

Ususally when I delete stuff it shows in my Yahoo deleted file but this message is not there either.

I'm not bothered about the message but is there a way of getting rid of the spurious lettes icon.

The old turning it off and on again? Usually works. If not, scan your inbox for unread messages. Sometimes if you delete an unread message, it marks a different email as unread for some reason. At least it does on mine. You haven't got the 8900 by any chance have you?

Assuming you no unread mail on the phone, you need to take the battery out for a few mins, turning off and on again alone won't do it.

Tried the switch off and on to no avail but the battery out re-boot worked like a charm and the silly icon is no more.

Thanks guys.

Download the app Quickpull and you can do a simulated battery pull without taking the battery cover off. I have mine scheduled to do a battery pull every night to keep things running fresh.
