Smashed my iPhone screen!

I know, very clever thing to do! Had it for 20 months with no case but the inevitable happened. Just bought a new screen and backing on the bay of e and naturally been looking at youtube videos that show how to change the casing and screen.

All I can really say is, oh dear :P Going to be a fun few hours and i'd say a good 85% of having a completely unusable iPhone by the end of it. But hey i'm all up for it!

Anyone else had to replace the screen/rear casing on their iphone at all?

my lad does them for £45 send it to him registered he replaces the screen and sends it back registered next day .pm me if interested .apple charge £160 eek good luck they are fiddly,

Good luck!! Hardest bit is to split the case with that silly plastic fiddly thing, or maybe that was just me.

You sure you want to do it yourself? Speaking from experience pay someone to do it that way you don't end up with little kinks in the backing.

Unless you're techie minded and very patient, don't even try it. Such a pain in the a**e. Pay someone else to do it. Changed two out now and will not do another. Good luck though if you go for it!!

It's easy to get it out the case, get a sucker stick it to the screen then undo the 2 screws and alakzam it lifts out

Dont try to replace the rear casing unless you have a lot of patience and some skill with a micro screwdriver set.

most of the components are mounted directly to the back of the case and the cheap quality replacements never truly fit. I know I have fitted 4 now and not one of them has ended up nice and flush when reasembled
Screen is dead easy to do the back is a nightmare

I can agree with u there kaetec the rear case is 1 mothers lol silly apple, I've got the crack by the connector port bloody thing
