3gs texting pics
Discussion
Hi, I cannot send or receive text pictures from my new iphone. Spoke to the service provider Vodafone who said to get it enabled via itunes. I have had a quick look but its a minefield. Can someone help with the quickest/easiest way.
Thanks.
P.S If it makes a difference the camera symbal is in place on the "text" screen, and if relevant the MMS in settings is enabled.
Thanks.

I have a 3GS on Vodafone and its nothing to do with iTunes. What is it that you want to do? Just send an MMS? If so, you can do one of two things:
1) Go to Messages and then select the person you are sending to / from. In the line for where you press to start typing text, there is a camera logo - just press that and it does the rest.
2) Go to the Camera and take a picture. This then puts a small copy in the bottom left corner. Press this and then it opens the Photo program. Press the bottom left icon to select send and then you can select how you want to send it.
That's it. Nothing else needed. Maybe worth checking your settings for the phone, but if its a Vodafone supplied one then its not a problem.

I have no problem texting and adding the picture I want to send, but it doesnt send. If I take the picture out, the text sends fine. Also 3 people say they have sent me pictures via text, two using the same phone and nothing comes through, so its blocked somewhere.1) Go to Messages and then select the person you are sending to / from. Does it fail with a red exclamation mark?Have you checked the MMS settings under Settings\General\Network\Cellular Data Network?
Found this on a Vodafone forum, might be worth a shot.
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Username: wap
Password: wap
MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms:9201
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12
Leave the rest blank, then restart your phone, it will ask you for your phone number when you restart.
As mentioned earlier, these are the settings that should be sent by the service provider in the form of a txt message.
