Dell USB mouse - broken?

My standard Dell mouse has started double clicking for every one click - basically making it difficult to grab, drag or do anything!

I have tried to adjust the double-click sensitivity but it does not seem to respond to this....

....my diagnosis is: fked.

Or, should I try and clean the inside contacts etc?

Worth a try. They get pretty skanky inside.
