Is there an easy way to uninstall software?

Some software I have installed has a nice uninstall utility. Others I have found do not.

cheers

Most software is supposed to bundle itself in the App itself (as you see it in the Appplications folder, which is actually a specially restricted folder that you can't normally open). So dragging to the bin will do.

Other bits left behind may appear in the Library (both the root version and each user) - check in:
- Application Support
- Caches
- Preferences
This stuff should really just free up disk space - it's not loaded until the app is opened to call on it. That should cover most of it.

Nice free program called AppCleaner just here:

http://www.freemacsoft.net/AppCleaner/

just drop the Application or Widget on the Delete App panel, or select an individual App from the list of installed programs and it deletes the app and all associated files.

Also another good place is: http://www.macupdate.com/
