Which mobile &/or contract

I need to get a new handset, ideally with Vodafone as contract is up but I'm happy to move for the right deal. However, what are the good handsets out there now? I don't want to pay £200 or so for an I-Phone as I just don't think I'll use its full features and it's a little too large as well. I want a decent point and shoot camera, good battery life and signal with occasional internet.
Not fussed about music as I have my I-pod for that.

Along with this any good network deals out there at the moment? Vodafone are offering a T/Tom 540 free with certain phones (LG Viewty lite?) but on a 24 month contract - a length I'm keen to avoid.
