I was bored the other day so thought I would go through the processes menu in task manager on my pc(xp). There is one process running called 'System' which is a trojan type thing according to This

Task manager won't let me end the process and I can't delete the file from my hard disk as it is a running process

I run ZoneAlarm, Norton AV, Spybot, Adaware and none of those identified this and certainly can't clean it. I also tried PestPatrol which didn't find it.

Any ideas what to do? I even tried a website that had instructions on how to remove this in the windows registry but I could find any reference to the file there (don't really know what I'm doing here though).

Any ideas, short of rebuilding the pc?

Are you running Windows NT4/2000/ or XP.

If so leave it alone it's a collective name for all operating system kernel threads and is a vital part of the OS.

It is not a Trojan.

Yep FWD is quite correct, thats a memory handler service, not a trojan...
