Which Blackberry
Discussion
Since 'accidently' breaking my works phone, I've been offered a choice of SPV or Blackberry. I tried and failed to get along with the SPV so Blackberry is my choice. The only problem is, which one do I go for? I've heard the touch screen on the Storm isn't great compared to the iPhone, so which handset would Blackberry users recommend?
No the 9700 is the new one a.k.a Bold 2.
The 9700 is a better device in nearly every way over the 9000, nearly double the battery life, better camera, more powerful hardware etc.
The Storm 1 is awful and to be avoided at all costs, the Storm 2 is considerably better and if you like the touch screen then its great but try it first as not everyone likes it.
I have all of the Blackberry's (test devices) and choose the 9700 as an everyday phone. Out of the current range though the 9700 is the best traditional and the Storm 2 best non traditional.

Just discussed this. It's either an 8900 or 8520. Apparently I'm not senior enough to be given a new one!
8900.The only advantage the 8520 has is the touch pad but it feels distinctively flimsy vs the 8900. The 8900 has far better hardware.
The 85xx series are the cheapo Blackberry's!
I've got a Storm2, and while there are clearly firmware issues yet to be resolved, I like it a lot.
RIM seem to be pretty aggressively developing the OS, and Vodafone are fairly snappy at rolling out RIM's updates. Since I had the phone at the end of December, there have been 2 or 3 updates, each one making things better.

Is it possible to get a dual sim card slot?
RIM don't make a phone that takes two SIM cards, but this company seems to offer a product that might be of use. Involves cutting up your SIM cards, though, so not for the faint-hearted.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
