how to stream an event live
Discussion
Hi,
thinking out aloud a chum is looking at streaming an event live on the web. up to about 1000 people would wanna watch it. ( no its not porn.. )
So have camera, laptop, website and net connection - how do u go about it? any advice? seem to be a few companies that host this sort of thing what does he need to consider?
any pointers appreciated
Thanks

Depends really. I've seen it done on places like BlogTV, but it's very clunky when it wants to be, works most of the time though. Think the biggest audience I've seen for a live show peaked at about 1300. It does have built in chatroom, and the most you can have in each chatroom is 150. Hit 150 and it automatically opens a waiting room, and so on. But it may be worth considering. There's plenty of alternatives in the same vein, stickam and ustream to name but two.
