Does anyone know if I can use itunes 8.0.2 to downgraded the firmware to 3.1.2?

Might be too early for it - 9.0.1 would be pre-3.1.3.
Also depends on whether the baseband was touched too - if so, then it probably won't work as the expected BB version won't tally with the software.

I would check iClarified.com and Google for downgrading a 3GS, to see what the score is.

Yeah google is a little unclear.

My phone came with it :-( - brand new, and no choice.

Was hoping maybe the downgrade check was not in 8.0.2 even for the MC models.
