Why not look at this Nokia site rather than Google. They have all the answers, they do make the phone.

Thats exactly right. A salesman who doesn't actually know a fking thing and would try any sort of underhand tactics.

Take it right back asap, demand a refund or an alternative model, as you were totally mis-sold the device. Ovi maps is available on S40, but its nowhere near as good as its smartphone bretheren.

If you want a cheap Nokia satnav, pick up a 5230 for £80 on payg. Its surprised me in many ways. Gets a GPS lock in seconds, worked perfectly pulling the maps down by 3G before I loaded them onto the device.

No free navigation for S40 phones "for the time being."

Are S40 devices compatible with Ovi Maps 3.03?

Nokia will continue with its paid license model for all existing S40 devices for the time being. The reason for this is that developing on different platforms takes different times. S60, the platform where Nokia is more agile, can try out new services with the Explore category devices. When developing for the Series 40 platform we have to take extreme focus on ease of use as Series 40 is the mass market platform. We are continuously developing the experiences across multiple platforms and are now taking the first steps on Series 40 side by introducing the first Series 40 devices with built-in GPS. We do not offer refunds for these users.
