Anyone know where I can download it without signing up my credit card details and home address, etc?

All I want to do is be able to hear BBC radio on my PC!

Thanks

There is a free download, if you click on one of the links from the BBC site I'm sure it directs you to it?

Not any more. I tried following the link, but it kept giving me the option to try a $50 service for 14 days free and keep the basic player. I can't be bothered with all that hassle, plus giving out my details to hounded by spam.

The free download on their site just leads to a blank page. They seem to be doing all they can to make you download the one you have to pay for. I found this though which should work:

http://forms.real.com/real/realone/realone.html?dc=220219218&type=bbc#demonUK

It works fine on my PC.

RealPlayer is a pain in the butt, beats me why the BBC uses it (cash deal?). RP stamps itself everywhere in your PC and wants to open everything. I'm quite surprised not to find an RP logo on my car afterwards!!! If I *have* to use it, I install it from a saved exe file, then uninstall it afterwards.

Agreed - the amount of "phone home" services it runs and useless bloat it puts on your PC is astounding. I just use Winamp 2.91 instead - much smaller, far less irritating and there are a multitude of plugins for it - think you can get a .rm plugin, which renders Realplayer redundant.
