I am trying to send out a Word document but each time I send it, it shows up all the changes/amendments I have done, even thought hey are not showing on the version I send. How can I get rid of these being sent?

Thanks

Hannah

For Word 2003 onwards, use the Remove Hidden Data add-in. Not sure if that covers Office 2002 though...

If not, try a round trip save to RTF then back to Word, and look at the file sizes. If smaller, its got rid of the guff.

Done that, made sure its off (no little box round symbol) and clicked on mark up in the other menu but it still sends out one with all the stupid boxes on it.

My first thought was that the recipient has 'Track changes' on by default, which then applies to all documents opened but I can't make that happen in Word 2007.

Its not a Track Changes thing, its Word doing internal versioning and saving metadata that includes edits, changes and all sorts of bits and bobs.

Thus the Remove Hidden Data thing wink

Very very very useful feature for reading tender documents, back before the tool got publicity.

Microsoft.com/office and search for Remove Hidden Data, or just google it. Its an add-in to Word that then creates a menu entry to allow you to remove everything. Two minute job, honest, guvness.

Am looking at the moment but they all seem to be for 2003 and XP rather than 2002. If i click on a 2003 download will it work?

Just looked at the system requirements, and it says Word 2002 is OK. Have fun.
