Error with Windows live and BT internet
Discussion
I'm having problems with BT internet and Windows Live mail with a tiscali email account (if that makes sense).
It seems unable to send emails with windows live, but usiong the exact same settings is fine on Outlook Express.
It is coming up with this error.
I don't suppose anyone could point me in the right direction?

I'm trying to understand what you're doing, your post seems contradictory..?
Is the ISP BT or Tiscali? Are you trying to send Tiscali emails over BT or BT emails over Tiscali? Not sure where Windows Live comes into all of it - Windows Live is for Hotmail or live.co.uk emails.
Can you clarify?

Windows live is the replacement for Outlook Express
The ISP is BT internet who have recently changed their "security" so that you had to register an email address to be able to send from it if it is not one of theirs.
The email is a tiscali one.
Gotcha. Wasn't aware Windows Live was the 'new' Outlook Express, I've always used Outlook 2003/7 and 'Windows Live' is also the replacement for MSN Messenger..The ISP is BT internet who have recently changed their "security" so that you had to register an email address to be able to send from it if it is not one of theirs.

Change the BT SMTP to 'mail.btinternet.com', check the 'My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication' and use the Tiscali incoming mail settings. AFAIK, the ports are standard; 110 incoming and 25 outgoing.
