Afternoon all,

A mate of mine wants to place a youtube video on his website as it mentions his buisiness. However, he does not want to simply embed it inces the file gets reomived from youtube at some stage. Is it possible to download it and if so, how do I do that?

Cheers

Hello

If you use Firefox browser you can get an add on here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=... which allowes you to download them.

Thanks for that Matt. I don't use it but I assume I can download it for this purpose and then return to my usual browser and email the file to my mate?

Thanks again.

No problem, happy to help smile

Firefox is free to download, it's actually a really good browser as you can get an ad blocker plugin too, so you can surf pretty much ad free, give it a try if you're downloading it anyway.

A note of caution - who owns the copyright in the video ? Make sure that is sorted before hosting on any other site or it could get expensive and nasty.

I find 'download helper' is the best as it will download the HD versions should you want them.

Thank you all. One can always count on ph! I'll try tomorrow and report back.

I have advised him to check copyright.

Cheers.

If your running XP then let the video run for its full duration, then go into temporary files and the .flv will be there to copy anywhere

If vista or windows 7 realplayer has a plugin for IE8 that means you can right click on video in youtube and download
