MS Word advice please

Hi, I have strangely lost my top margin and now every time I open a doc, create a new one there's no top margin, I just can't see how to put it back. This error seems to have saved itself as my normal template, and, I can't drag the margin down on the left for some reason. Please help

thats an easy one.

If you bring the mouse to the top of the page, but under the toolbar, it should change into two little white boxes with opposing arrows.

Click it and the margins should re-appear.
