I've got quite a lot of old computer books (e.g. teach yourself Visual Basic 6). I'm never going to read these again but I don't like throwing books out.

Is there anything I can do with these other than recycle them (e.g. donate them to a charity or university or something that can make use of them)?

Oxfam takes books, don't know if the local library does...you could always ask.

I've also got a load of ( not just computer) books that I need to be rid of.

Or Freegle. wink

The problem is that the info can be out of date so most libraries would also be chucking out these books. A charity shop won't have a clue, though, if they're in good condition. biggrin

I've got a copy of 68000 Internals somewhere laugh Didn't understand it when I was 15, probably makes even less sense now!

biggrin I bought a book on Assembly Language with the idea that I'd learn it. That plan went well, then.

Ancient history. Don't saddle the charity shops with them (though do donate more suitable books).

Just bin them.

As I kid I thought it was going to be a step by step tutorial - it wasn't, it was a reference guide and I didn't have an assembler!

Did eventually learn it, but on RISC OS instead using a half baked Dabs Press guide and a PRM for the wrong version of the OS. Ah, my wasted youth hehe
