Hi All,

Another Excel question of the sort that generally gets answered on here in 30 seconds of less! smile

I have a few hundred company names in each of three excel cells, all as big long text strings with commas between each name.

How do I get from the above to a list of all the company names in separate cells in a single column?

Thanks in advance!

You want the text to columns function. Separate using the comma delimiter.

Edit - Select the column in question then look under the Data menu. Excel will overwrite the destination cells so I usually put in enough blank columns beforehand.

I did find that text to column feature, but that put each individual item into a new column.

What I really need is a text to row feature!

Once it's in columns you can use paste special and transpose to put it in rows.

Highlight the columns it produces then select cut.
Choosed paste special and click the transpose check box.
