Afternoon all,

Any Mac experts out there to help me with this problem?

I have a MacBook Air that has performed faultlessly until today. Fired it up this morning, all working fine, came back this afternoon ant turned it on again, and now the Airport (wireless networking) is not working, and can't be turned on - I can try to turn it on but nothing happens. The wireless network is fine (other computers using it) and I can connect using an ethernet cable. Any ideas?

I'll probably take it down to the local Mac store later anyway.

Cheers,
Ewen.

Create a new Location in Network, and input your details in the new Airport connection.
Had a similar issue with the iMac (that I subsequently sold for a new one) recently with the ethernet dropping the connection randomly.
Ended up doing a complete reinstall, just so the default location could be used, rather than having to use the newly created one.
Deleting various User and System .plist files didn't resolve it either - so something somewhere else was creating the problem.
Once done though, was as right as rain again for the next lot of weeks or so, until I sold it - and I've heard nothing about it from the local buyer since.

Quick google has this solution...

1. Open the Network System Preference panel
2. Delete Airport by clicking the “-” (minus) button
3. Restart your Mac
4. Open the Network System Preference panel
5. Add Airport by clicking the “+” (plus) button
6. Click “Apply”

Same page also suggests "zapping your PRAM"

Google solution didn't work.

Not done the PRAM solution yet as after leaving it off for 2 hours, it's now working fine again. <shrug>

Try turning off/on your wireless router/access point.

I had a somewhat similiar problem, my iPhone would connect via wifi to my airport express (wifi access point thingy) but my Macbook wouldn't. In the end I had to power on/off the airport express and also re-configure it from scratch, and then everything worked.
